One of three original band members, Linda is also happily married to band leader Larry. She plays the keyboards and keyboard bass, sings a few backups. Her music performance degree from Frostburg University prepared her well for her work with the band. In addition to her performing, Linda transcribes and assigns backup vocal parts, and is co-webmaster for the band’s website.
Rock-solid guitar chops and amazing attention to detail make Howard a central part of the rhythm section. He earned his bachelor of music degree in guitar at Shepherd University. and now teaches dozens of guitar students locally. Howard does it all, including cocktail music on classical guitar. Now celebrating ten years with the band, he is always ready to lend a hand where needed, and is just an all-around nice guy.
A Retrospect veteran of more than a decade, Mike sings covers of an impressive array of vocal styles and artists. When not belting out a lead, he is singing all manner of back-up vocals, helping out on guitar, blowing the harmonica and/or playing one of many different percussive instruments. A master of the perfectly-timed quip, he keeps audiences entertained and keeps us all laughing.
An amazing and versatile singer with a range of musical experience, Aimee has graced the Retrospect stage for more than a decade, taking a little time off in between for her career and motherhood. She’s a veritable bundle of energy who never stops moving, and her love of performing shines through in every song. And her megawatt smile is a happy bonus.
The newest addition to our vocal lineup, Tara’s raw talent and her experience in previous bands landed her the vocal position with Retrospect in 2012. She brought with her an amazing vocal flexibility for musical styles from pop to Motown to country. Whether it’s a lead diva vocal or a supporting backup role, Tara gives it her all with warmth and an easygoing charm.
Band leader Larry Elliott has been the driving force behind Retrospect since forming the band, after earning his degree in music education, and a three-year stint as a theater pit orchestra musician.Larry continues to lead the band today, handles all the band's bookings, and acts as the band's sound tech, lighting tech, and co-webmaster. On stage, he is the Master of Ceremonies, and plays trumpet, flugelhorn and keytar.
The newest member of our horn section, Charlie plays all the saxophones, transitioning easily from sectional blend to soaring sax solos. When not playing the sax, he also fills in on keyboard and backup vocal harmonies. Charlie is working on a degree in mechanical engineering, which will have no value to his musical career, but will look great on his resume.
An original in every sense of the word, Parker has been with Retrospect since the band started. His talent, both on the trombone and vocally, and his behind-the-scenes support have been invaluable to the success of the band. Add to that his quirky sense of humor, and you can see why we love him.
Bob joined the band in 2010 with extensive performing experience in other variety bands and big bands, as well a degree in music education and extensive drum teaching experience in several local studios. We consider his drum skills to be the most critical piece of the band puzzle. Without his steady tempos and seamless transitions, the rest of us could not make it all happen the way we do.
“Retrospect Band was absolutely superb. Their musical skill, love of what they are doing, and professionalism exceed any band I've seen.”
